Okay, so I know this says Knit and Crochet, but I've been working on a lot of counted Cross Stitch. I have a bunch of UFO's and sadly these eyes don't see color changes as well as they once did . I have lovely kits in houses in 2 states that I need to get to.
On another note, I have completed a snowman and a almost finished a tropical bird for DD and SIL . Hope they like them. I will take pictures and someday show them off . I'm glad my camera card hold a lot cause I'm a lost cause when it comes to new things ( to me ) computer wise. I just don't learn new things as easily as I once did.
Today I'm going to have a Moez procedure on my face. Skin cancer .In 3 weeks I'm going to have a total knee replacement. I'll have plaenty of time to work on things then,though I pretty much do now. Got a special project in the works fo a DIL . I hope she likes it. I never know these days .
If you are in a place that is getting record snows ,stay warm. In a place with rain, stay dry.

Again I have let the blog go. As it is more like a diary and no one reads it ,I guess it doesn't matter. I have finished up a bunch of items that will be Christmas decorations at the Colorado House when we get there. Remodeling here in is winding down,but it's been a very long process . DD had surgery on her arm and they found that scar tissue had pinched the nerve in more than one area. No one wanted to believe she was in pain and for a very long time. They couldn't see or tests didn't show anything until an inch by inch one . I hate doctors that think things are all in your head. There are plenty of hypochondriacs out ther,but my girl isn't one of them. People that fake it usually do the things they want to do or like to do when no one is looking,but she couldn't even enjoy doing her crafts nor do everyday things without pain.

I have been doing alot of magnets ,also as surprises for some people. Hope they like them

Hello, My goodness ,it has been almost 6 months since I posted. It's like starting all over. I still haven't leanrned to do pictures ,but I do now have the right kind of camera . I guess that's progress. I've been busy doing dishcloths ( all kinds of new patterns) ,a shawl for a bridal shower and a wedding garter ( though it didn't end up being worn.) My two youngest are married . My daughter eloped before her hubby was deployed back in July . She kept it quiet so as not to overshadow the wedding of her brother ,which was in the later part of August.
The knee problem I referred to is going to require a replacement,but I'm trying to stall until after the holidays.
Our kitchen remodel is still going ---- forever. New appliances in ,but no new counter or sink yet . The floor tile is torn off. Will it ever end . It sure doesn't seem so. I am so tired of plaster and cement dust and the whole process. DH can do all the work ,but it takes time and money. The time we have ,the money ,not always.
Colorado looks no closer,becuse even if the market changed ,the house isn't ready. As many others are saying " It wasn't supposed to be this way" refering to retirement.
A lot of things weren't supposed to go this way. The direction of our country is scary. In fact ,the world in general can be very scary.
Latest project is a cable sampler scarf from a pattern in Debbie Macomber's book "Summer on Blossom Street" I would link to it ,but I have forgotton how . I think my daughter has a lot of work to do with me . Ha ha. You can ,however find this lovely pattern in the book or on Debbie's website which is a lovely place to visit.
Hubby and I have been helping our Heather with yardwork as her Keith is gone and her arm si still a problem . Keith is due back Oct 21 so these two can start acting as the newlyweds that they are ( only had two weeks before he deployed). As a Mom -in-law, I can say we got a good one . Keith is a sweet caring guy and we are happy to have him as a part of our family.
The other wedding Ryan and his Molly. They have been together for a while so the wedding seemed anticlimactic. I'm sure they wouldn't want to hear that,but I don't think they even know I have a blog .( which as you can see ,I hardly ever get to).

Good Sunday Morning, It's been almost a month. Before we took our vaction, I discovered one of my kitties had messed up tht afghan that I talked about the last time . A repair will have to be made before I can send it out.
We took our vacation and oh the sights to see in Washington D.C. For the msot part the weather was good though I have to say those lovely folks sent me back to Calif with a cold which I am still fighting.
Transportation there is amazing and we managed to get to most everything by Metro underground train. A shuttle from the hotel took us to the closest station.
The Smithsonian Museums ( and there are many ) are clustered together or at least most of them are. You get off a metro to visit them ,turn one way for the museums and the opposite way for the National Mall, Reflecting Pool , Washington Monument. Vietnam wall and such. We saw Natural history ,a couple of aerospace museums , a postal museum ,The national Zoo and Arlington. You could weeks and not see everything.
We got to see a panda and found that they have a favorite kind of bamboo . Who knew?
The Memorials at Arlington ,too numerous to mention and see, but we did see Kennedy's tomb and The Women in Military memorial and more. There were so many more . It's hills and steps and as the week progressed my knees started protesting. I'm still working on resolving that.
We have started a kitchen remodel here and it will be nice ,but what a mess right now and oh the things the builder hide. I continue to be surprised that this house even stands. It's a good thing hubby can do so much ,but neither of us have the ambition we once did.
My cupboard contains are in boxes . He says it's like camping . I remeber being able to find things when I was camping.
What have I worked on lately not much. A few dishcloths , trying my hand at knit bookmarks . That can frustrate you. Made a replacement square to start the repair on that afghan. Tried to do some organizing in my craft room. Shelves someday maybe? hey I have rooms in 2 states and both of them need a lot of help .
I am off to find a creative way to start spagetti sauce in my messed up kitchen

Morning, It's a nice sunny one here in So Cal, though they say rain is expected tomorrow. Yesterday was garage cleanup day so we could get a pickup in with our Honda CRV . We want it out of sight when we take a vacation to D.C.
I just finished a Lacy star afghan in greens and soft white. It's an old pattern from Hooked on Crochet ( The mag is no longer published. ) I have 2 KAL's in dish ckloth groups to catch up on. As you can see I still don't have a clue how to do pictures or I would share. Actually I don't even Have the right kindof camera. I am severly challenged in that area. LOL . More doctors appts coming up with my girl . The Navy still hasn't figured things out. Issues with hubby. He has a problem with a growth or something behind one knee. I am pushing for resolution there. The ultrasound showed nothing . Yet the doctor is the one that pointed out a problem when he complained of pain. I am lucky enough to have a PPO for Insurance . He has an HMO and I don't think they care if their patients die. I guess you can tell I'm frustrated . I am living with a man that I dearly love and he is made at everything. The stock market ,the medical system , The world and life in general. Enough of this hope anyone that read this has a good weekend.

An amazing thing has happened . At least it seems that way to me. A couple of weeks ago I woke up with words streaming through my head and the desire to write them down. At 66 , I have found the abitlity to write poetry. It may not last,but even so it's really neat right now. I have completed about a dozen with various themes. I'm not sure if they are set up right ,but it's not like I'm going to submit them for publishing. I set them up the way the feel right to me. The people that I've shared them with like them and that makes me feel good. I hope they aren't saying that just to be nice.
Brett is on his way home from Colorado and should be here in an hour or so. When you have some 30 years of marriage ,it's hard to be apart even though everyone needs their space once and a while.
My crafts are going well and I'm trying my hand at designing patterns for dishcloths. I have one completed and worked up though I haven't had anyone else test it yet . There are a couple more on graph paper to try.
My creative juices seem to be on overload . Wish I'd had some of this before.

Morning, I continue to go to therapy to improve leg strength. Hubby is in Colorado this week. Daughter and boyfriend stopped by on the way to Sand Diego for more medical appts. for her. I have decided that I should not walk out the front door without a key attached to my body. I locked myself out. Fortunately with the help of a neighbor I was able to get back in and promptly took a key to them. I have been doing hand towels ( knit) I have found several great patterns. I was inspired to get moving when an email buddy sent me one. I love it. I started a knit afghan ,but it's just too loose for the warmth that I want it to have so I frogged and am crocheting one. This will be a donation.
Cre8tive quilters , I continue to peek at your wonderful projects. Keep up the good work girls .
Next week is my cancer checkup . So far so good. I am expecting to have that continue.

Hi , all Once again some time has passed. I 've been keeping busy working on an afghan as a ccomfortghan foe someone fighting cancer. I can sympathize though mine has not yet required treatment and my last test show that not much has changed in 3 years. The part I sympathize with is the fear you feel . I have that everytime a checkup is due.
I checked my blog to find out That I have some followers. My Heather is going to show me how to add the people that I follow. Though,I'm not a quilter, some of them are quilters in a very special group called Cre8tive Quilters. They are email buddies of my girl . They made a lovely friendship quilt to thank her for her service to our country. These really special people asked me to join their group and I truly enjoy looking at ther beautiful projects. Some day I will learn how to post mine. Don't hold your breath though cause I'm a slow learner on computer things LOL.
Am starting physical therapy to strengthen my legs . Exercise is not my thing so shame on me . I need to get with the program.

My , it's been longer thatn I thought . The end of the year got away from me. I did not bake or anything for the Holidays. My daughter got back safely from deployment. hubby enjoyed the "Tiger Cruise" He was in the unique position of understanding their work and the planes after working on them for so many years. I finish afghans to send to my sister for the Highland Manor and scarves for her and family. ( my only handmade gifts this year). My # 3 son and his wife were out for Christmas,but # 2 son and his wife missed the get together.
I have made seeveral trips to San Diego with daughter for an on going problem. She had Ulnar Nerve surgery a couple of years ago. Things went well for a few months ,but now almost 2 1/2 years later she is in constant pain. Somthing is not right ,but the Neurologists say things look good. The Therapist says her strength in the arm is improving, guess what folks ,the pain is still there. She is frustrated , I am frustrated watching and wondering why they don't take pictures to see what is happening inside. I want to yell and strike out. It's a Mom thing I guess.
About a week ago ,I finished a granny square variation afghan to go on the back of the couch in Colorado .
Any folks , guess what since Dec, we have gotten all kinds of new furniture. Living room, dinning room and family room It's amazing and lovely and comfy and yeah ,I guess we were way over do.
We have watched a new man take over the big white House in DC and I admit I'm not a supporter. He has so little experience in the ways of the world and who did he bring in to help ,some other folks that I don't much care for ,but it is what it is. He will need all the prayers and good thoughts he can get . I feel so out of any loop,but imagine what seniors older than me feel . Scarry .
I hopr that maybe this year my girl may find time to show me how to add pictures of my projects .
You know that fella that I went to San Diego with to meet the ship. He fits right in with this family. He has the goofiness and he seems comfortable with us. I think he's a keeper and I think my Heather thinks he is too. They really compliment each other. They aren't afraid to to be silly together and they try very hard to take care of each other .
Another event coming up this year, Youngest son is getting married in August. All my babies are grown up. What an amazing thing to contemplate. It boggles the mind .

Have not decided if I have goals for this new year or not. I guess I will bring my jewlery supplies back from Colorado since there will be no move anytime soon and I may finally get the courage to try the polymer , after all I do have the supplies and have had for some time.
enough for now . I wouldn't want any one to go blind catching up

Hi , It's been a bit of time since I posted. I completed 2 afghans -one mile-min and a ripple with drop down stitches . About 10 hats . All of these are going to the folks at Highland Manor in Fallon , Nevada. Some seniors that have little or nothing.
My girl's ship will be in Tues and she and her Dad will be home . He met the ship in Hawaii to come back to San Diego on a " Tiger Cruise " ( a chance for family to experience Navy life aboard a ship, in this case the Ronald Reagan. They will be home just in time for Thanksgiving. I ,also , completed a hat and scarf set during this time and a baby sweater and hat which went out for my nephew's little one . More scarves start and a whole bunch of dishcloths and bookmarks back logged .
I am going to Physical Therapy to strengthen my legs and back and to improve my gait ( that's a fancy way of saying the way I walk)
I am no where close to getting in a holiday spirit . Christmas things were out too soon and I just can't get it together. The scarves will be gifts ,but I never got to some other planned items . Hope everyone else is doing better
Mon , my girl's boy friend and I will head down to San Diego to meet the ship

Hi, it is election day. a scary one because we have so much to fix or to do to get on the right track. No one person is responsible for our mess and no one person will fix it. It has been a long time in the making ,certainly more than eight years or sixteen because many changes take years to affect us. If you are like me ,you have been electioned to death. I wonder how many trees went into all the fliers. I think they would have been better left as trees. It's ,almost over and who ever you chose ,I hope it is the right choice to gain us back some momentum ,to gain us back repect in the world , to straighten out the financial mess , to protect our military. Hope the good Lord helps and watches over us all as we move into the next year. We certainly do need his help and all the other help we can get.

Morning, Hubby is off in Colorado . I have kitty duty. I keep them company,they keep me companyLOL . My girl is heading back to the US . Yippee. I am concerned for her safety and others as we are getting a new president. Our military is already understaffed and under supplied with what they really need. I wonder if our Founding Fathers ever figured we would feel the need to be the conscience of the world and try to save everyone. Don't mind me that's just a Mom talking.They never get too old for you to worry about.
I am finishing up a Mile a Minute afghan . Started a baby sweater and have plans for another afghan. The blankets will go to my sister for residents of Highland Manor in Fallon Nevada
Halloween is almost upon us and I dread it more each year . Too many big kids , too few cute little ones. I guess it's a sign of my age . My tolerance level and patience aren't what they once were. I guess I jsut need some venting and I don't hurt anyone when I do it this way.

Morning, If you are following the news ,you know that Southern Calif is on fire once again. Over the past few years , Calif has had major fires - North and South. We are not in danger here. There are family members that are close at both ends of one fire. DD got hit twice when she was in San Diego area. The last one was most scary because she was out of state and a friend was caring for her apt and kitties. The little town was evacuated . Happily ,she lost nothing and her fur babies were okay. She is off floating the seas with the Navy and her fur babies are staying with Grandpa and Grandma. Little Lily is crazy about Grandpa . She won't leave him alone since he got back from his business trip. She sits and stares at him with adoring kitty eyes. She ,also ,at times uses his leg as a scratching post . Ouch. Grandpa says they and ours are a pain ,but he looks for the little one. Grandpa's can be softees . My girl will be home just before Thanksgiving. I can't wait. This will be the first year in almost 10 years that we will not go to Colorado for Thanksgiving. MIL will be on her own. I'm guessing she will get an invite somewhere. Hubby is headed back to Colorado to do some more at the house and will be there to take her out for her birthday. That will be a special thing and may make a difference.
I have been doing a lot of pot holders. I must finish a carrying bag and get started on another afghan for the seniors at a special place in Fallon Nev where my sister worked. Someday. I will learn how to do pictures and put them on line. DD says I am capable of learning . Sometimes ,I wonder . Must get to baking a cake for hubby's birthday . Have a wonderful fall day.

Hello, It's been almost a month and I don't have a really good excuse. We spent the last week at our Colorado house. Very comfortable. Hubby is building up the bank along the river as it is badly eroded. I helped the first day . 4 hours and unbelievably sore muscles . I had so much trouble gettin up from the bank ,hubby banned me from helping. I guess that's what 10 years difference does. He went into town a couple of times and I went into to my craft room ( half of what I have ( where will I put all the Calif stuff when we finally do move) I pulled some of my afghan patterns for ideas to make for my sister to take to her work and wouldn't you know I found a pattern that I just have to do for the back of the couch there. I picked up a sweater that I had let go for months and managed to make it to the sleeve decreases.
Wild life was fun to watch . There were some young deer back and forth through the yard .The buck had only 4 points . The twin fawns had lost there spots. They weren't afraid of us at all. The last day we were there ,they came through the yard - a doe ,one fawn and the4 buck about 20-30 yards from us.
Hubby is headed back in about 2 1/2 weesks . I will stay here and keep control of kitties , I think they had too much free time on their paws while we were gone.
My mother-in-law decided she needed some new pot holders . Seems liek I just made her some,but she says it's been about a year.
I came back to finish a little pumpkin hat for my great nephew. I sure hope his teenage Mommy likes it.
I am playing catch up with cleanning and such. Isn't that always the way. I will be so glad when we have a washer again in Colorado and have only one house to take care of. Not soon with the state of Real Estate.
I guess everyone is like me and looking around and saying "What happened? How come you didn't pick up on warnings and signs sooner?"
And the elections . I don't care who you are for . Is anyone else as burned out on the campaign and the ads and the mudslinging as I am ? Is that unpatriotic? After a while all , I hear is blah ,blah ,blah. I'm afraid for our country and military no matter what way it goes . It's a scary time .
Breakfast and a finished wash load calls . Where is the maid or house keeper ? Doesn't she know that I have other things I want to do ? LOL OH wait , that's me . Better get to it

Morning, It's been a bit of time since I posted. Hubby is back from his job and is waiting to be paid. I finished the last stocking that ,I was working on . Have done a bunch of hats and a diagonal afghan to send to my sister for haer work. she may change jobs,but says there is still a need . She's in a bad situation with a new supervisor. It sounds from her description as if he is sexually harassing the female employees. She's looking for a job with benefits. Jobs aren hard to come by for a lt of people ,but she is in a small town,so it seems worse.
Recently , I started using my own bags for grocery shopping. They are all crocheted. I have figured out what works best ( wider openings and a bit more space) They all stretch ,but some are better than others. It's a great way to use leftover cotton yarn ,though I come up with some starange color combinations.
Hubby and I hope to head to Colorado for about a week. We need to get the palce ready for winter. No idea any more when we may move . With Real Estate and Stock Market going crazy, no one wants to make any unnecessary moves.

My girl is still on deployment and not due back until almost the end of Nov. She used to call everyday ,sometimes many times. Her Dad would get annoyed at all our calls ,but I sure do miss them. She is my craft buddy. We aren't together - a couple hours apart ,but we compare and visit .
Well , I guess I just have to wait.

Wow, It's been a while since I've written anything. I have completed many dishcloths . 4 out of 5 stockings are done. I have been asked by my sister if I will do an occasional afghan for the convelscent Hosp that she works at. She says that even after many years of life some people have very little. That's a pretty sad comment on life ,isn't it? I am tired of being alone. Even a house full of cats and daily phone calls from hubby plus voices on the TV doesn't cut it. Tomorrow , I'll go to a retiree lunch and have human contact for at least an hour or two. I ahve come to the conclusion that having alone time is great as long as it isn't all the time.
I should have set myself a goal to finish a bunch of UFO's while hubby was gone ,but I didn't . I jsut imersed my self in dishcloths and stockings. I think this week I'll see what I can put together to start at least one afghan for my sisters job.

Hi all , I completed another stocking las night . I've got a pile of dishcloths and a mini version of the popular round dishcloth that is coaster size . No pictures , of course, I don't know how to do that and I don't have the right camera even if I did. I am working on a cute caterpillar cloth now and ready to start yet another stocking . I am ,also, trying to mediated cat problems as my daughter's little one is giving everyone a hard time. how can something so cute be such a little pistol. She's picking fights with everyone and they are all bigger than she is LOL. I jsut remembered I have the water on in the pool. Have a great day everyone.

I'm excited Moneik says it will be easy to turn my counted cross stitch piece into a quilt block. I tried to keep the size where she had room to work with it. Did my good deed for today and helped figure out how to shut down a sprinkleer gone bad next door. The neighbor is out of town and I discovered that there was a problem when I was going to run errands. Usually hubby is around to give advice ,but I got mine from Illinois so I could find the valve and stop the water. It will still drain for a while cause the back yard is flooded . Being alone isn't great , but I'm finding new ways to take care of things I didn't have to before. I'm even doing pool stuff while hubby is gone. Okay it consists of emptying the leaf basket and making sure there is chlorine so it doesn't get cloudy, but I didn't do it before.
I'm making one more trip to son's house tomorrow to check on things and then I'm done . He is to be back tomorrow afternoon.

Wow, what a day. I think Moneik is right, cleaning is a Mom thing. I went to finish up today and while I was there son's power was disconnected. It helps if you pay bill. I was pretty sure they were barely getting by. He owes me since there was no place for him to pay it in Tahoe. I let my Heather know that I had finished one stocking for her friends . It's 24 inches long ,but surprisingly she's okay with that. As she tries to convert me to quilting., I have to remind her that my machine is ancient and hasn't been used in a while. It as was my past machine is second hand. I never had a new one. I used to do a lot of sewing when my older boys were young. I then got one that readjsuted the machine everytime he got the chance. I moved on to handiwork because it was portable and once he got big enough to not take naps ,I couldn't work. That little kid is 34 years old now . I don't know about anyone else ,but I am ready for fall temps. I hope they will improve my energy level because most times ,I feel like I'm melting.
I have decided that a neat idea for a baby gift would be some picture cloths, maybe a special bath towel and maybe some bath products. I'm off to cast on stocking # 2 in red and off white. The first one was in green and off white. and the last one blue. They all have snowflakes working in.

I guess I should post if someone is going to check what I'm doing. I am continuing to work on dishcloths . Just finished the first one for this month in th KAL group. I'm working on a stocking one of several that my DD Heather has asked me to do. She'd like me to quilt . I'd like her to knit. So far we have both been unsuccsessful in converting the other one . Since she is on a ship right now ,she's limited to hand sewing. It's a big ship and believe it or not ,she just ran into someone she went to high school with. Even our big world gets small.
Crazy news item out here in Calif today. A man was clawed by a mountain lion. he saw some cubs and decided he wanted to try and pet on even though he saw the mother near by. I think Mom was pretty gentle with him considering.
Jen , I have been watching your blog for some time . Moneik , I just added yours to my favorites so I can see what you are up to.
Cindy I have check yours a number of times too, but the day I tried to add it to favorites my computer wouldn't cooperate. I must try again.

Yeterday, I headed down to check on youngest sons cats and house. I ,also ,did a really Mom thing and did some cleaning. I thought a little bit. I spent 2 hours . He'll probably be a bit upset ,but wht can I say ,again a Mom thing.

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted, I don't think it matters since no one is checking it any way. Hubby has been gone close to 3 weeks and will be gone another. He will come home Aug 1 for a very short weekend and then fly out again. He's going to make a stop in Colorado to do some cleanup at the house and then fly out of there to Detroit. He'll be gone until Sept . Daughter is well on her way to the gulf.
Me I'm working on crafts. I completed an ABC baby blanket , dishcloths for the group I joined. I need to get supplies for the bookmark group I joined and I'm doing a secret project . I am ,also sharing my home with the cat brigade. Oh well, they are company.

Last Tues to this Tues . Not the best. I got a call Tues A.M. that my mother was dying. Before we could head out to Fallon Nevada ,we got the call that she had passed. My sister was able to give her her last wish and she passed in her own bed. While gone hubby got the call taht he si expected in Detroit Mom afternoon. We don't know if this is the long term trip. The job requires 3 weeks at a time through Sept,though he may not come back because we are paying for it all until the first pay comes in. Tomorrow ,only daughter head out to meet her ship, the Ronald Reagan in Guam. She'll be gone until Thanks giving time. No 3 son called to say they had had a high wind storm in Omaha. None of his inlaws or he hurt ,but they were without power for 12 hours. Me , I'm here with a house full of cats, triple digit temps and my crafts. Right now I am tired beyond belief . Can you blame me.

Talked to daughter about how to post an active web site. I'm going to try . A great warm weather project is dishcloths and you can never have too many . They are great for gifts too. Here's a site I found dishandwashcloth mania .We'll see if it works for you.

It is once again very hot. I am amazed to hear that on the east coast in upstate New York that they are having abnormaly cool weather for this time of year. I have been talking to an aunt about it. The trout counted cross stitch is done . I am ,also ,almost done with my first string bag. I have decided to work on going green. I don't know if the stores will cooperate or not. I'm hoping so. Sorry I don't remember how daughter said you can make the site so you can click on it. Still learning part of the process. .I guess I'll get there . That and learning how to add pictures. I have a long way to go.

We had a nice day . It was hot and we did the yards . Youngest son (29) made chicken tacos and I made brownies for dessert. I'm about finished with a trout counted cross stitch and am going to start a dishcloth. I just joined a monthly dishcloth group. There are some fantastic patterns that I want to try. Nothing much happening as it's another hot day. Stay cool and hydrated everyone.

Morning all, or I guess I should say anyone that checks in on me. Hubby is gone and I'm here with the kitty family ,doing house things,You know like the bathrooms , and vacuuming and all those fun things . Got some recipes to file . You can never have too many of those or crafty things even if you never get to them. I am ahead of the game though, because I have already put together a new pasta salad recipe with chicken so I will just need to pull it out of the fridge and dish it up for dinner.
I know a lot of you are working, since I'm old and retired I get to do the other kind of work. For all you youngsters out there. There is plenty of work even after retirement.

Morning, We now have daughter Heather's kitties. Lily the little one is terrorizing everyone. Hi Jenn, nice to meet you. I don't know if you will read other comment so I wanted to say hi here. I have put down the counted cross stitch cars . I zigged when I sould have zagged. I am a few stitches off somewhere so I have to make some adjustments. I am not in th mood to do so right now. I have started another picture until the brain kicks in. I'm looking at picking up yarn for other projects to work on if Hubby finally makes this trip that has been proposed. Maybe even some mesh bags for shopping if I can decide how many. Would love to hear about some other projects you might have.

Evening, Well the paper work continues to get Hubby going on the small business and we hope the new assignment. There is a lot of frustration and as we have found out money involved with getting things going. He says we are much better equiped to handle it all now than we would have been when we were younger. My answer,yeah right. Daughter's kitties are headed our way as she prepares to head to the gulf. This is her second time. She has been land based for a while.She was there at the beginning. Oh how I wish we would see some relsolution in the near future,but I don't think so .I just want our young people to come home. Many have gone back way too many times,but this is a job that they chose. We must be proud of them and support them irregardless of what we feel about the war. Morning, forgot to tell you all tht while in Colorado, I got to go through the Hobby Lobby store in Fort Collins to pass some time. I was in hog heaven and I didn't even go through the whole store . The variety of yarn and supplies. Unreal. Our house is about an hour and a half from town ,but Fort Collins ,also has Michaels and JoAnn's and who knows what else yet to be discovered.
On a current note DH applied for and got a Ficticious Name and business license yesterday so he can do some work for his past company. Company rules won't allow him t go back otherwise. He will be gone 3 weeks at a time on the job and it is to last a minimum of 3 months. I'll find things to do . Even though I'll miss him, I may get back to some sort of a routine for a while . We'll have to wait and see how this works out. Have a good weekend all

Hi all, We just got back from a week in Colorado. We were 80 miles from the tornado. We got some heavy hail and rain,but that was it.. Rain off and on ,so we didn't get some painting done.There's always next time. I made some good progress on the Classic car counted cross stitch that I'm working on. I need to get back to the short sleeve cardigan . I,also, brought back my tattting info. I want to practice with it and I'd like to create a wedding garter. We'll see. Not sure when my girl will teach me how to do picture,but not for a while. I can wait. Talk to you all soon. It's back to the picture and the kitties that seem to have missed DH and I.

Hi all, Hope your weekend has gone well and it's not too hot. I helped hubby do tile today. Help isn't exactly the word. I mix mortar, hand him the level,pencil or whatever. He's very good at it though he was a tool designer for airplanes and did tool repair and sometime aricraft repair before he retired. We are headed to Colorado for about a week . Mountain air and cooler air.

Morning all, Mom in law came home from the hospital tired ,but seems fine. That's great for 85 . I am continuing on my counted cross stitch car picture and looking for ideas to cover some areas on a bag that puffy paint lettering did not come off of when the place I had mentioned shut down. I thought multicolr butterflies ,but they are too big. I'm not giving up the search though. Have a great day . It is windy here in the Antelope Valley.

Hi all, Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. My daughter and daughter-in-law found a Monopoly game for crafters called Stitchoply. What a kick, huh. .Good meal by my sun Sat and calls from the others today. Haven't done a bit of crafting in a couple of days. Mother-in- law went into hospital on emergency basis and we are in Calif and she's in Colorado so we wait for news to see if we will be making the trip

Hi, I'm Mom ( Nancy) a 65 year old Mom of 5 and Grandmom to 3. My daughter has convinced me to try blogging. I'm not sure what she is thinking. She still has t teach me how to do pictures. I'm a slow learner on computer things as I did not grow up with them . When I was young they filled a room. I am a lover of crafts. Mostly the needlework type ,though, I trying to learn bead work and polymer clay. Slow going since I'm unsure of myself. I like cooking and trying new recipes ,some successes ,some failures. Fortunately more of the former though, this weeks Chicken with Mozarella and tomatoes was a no go. I'l love to talk to like minded people
